Life in Los Angeles must be busy for most people, but Benny is all about the chill vibes and quiet moments. This sweet boy has a very specific way of announcing his social battery has officially hit zero. In a viral video shared by @lexandbenny, the Golden Retriever makes his intentions to go to bed impossible to ignore. And he does that by dragging a massive blanket around like a royal train. He doesn’t feel the need to bark or nudge; he just looms in the hallway until his point is made. For him, subtleties are overrated.

The video shows the Golden Retriever ready for bed. He’s standing on the landing with his blankie in his mouth. The on-screen text reads, “Someone’s ready to go to bed,” and Benny makes no attempt to deny it. He flashes a quick, sleepy smile when his mom approaches, then tightens his grip on the blanket like she might confiscate it. The blanket clearly has history. It’s not just fabric — it’s part comfort object, part bedtime announcement, part leverage.

As his mom walks past him, Benny pivots his whole body to keep her in view, eyes wide and hopeful. When she heads into another room, he blinks slowly, the kind of long, exaggerated blink that viewers instantly recognize. One commentator agreed, “Those are long sleepy time blinkies! Always how I know my girl is ready for bed.”

Mom doesn’t immediately comply, so Benny changes tactics. He turns and trots straight into the bedroom, blanket still dragging behind him. Fans loved the confidence. “This is also how I tell my mom it’s bedtime!” one Golden Retriever account said, while another simply declared him, “My king.” Others chimed in with solidarity: “We love our blankies.”

It’s not the first time Benny’s blanket has made an appearance, either. Longtime followers might remember it showing up during cuddle requests, carried gently like a polite ask. Tonight, though, there’s no request — just a very clear plan.
