An Instagram video from @sassyhuskies is equal parts funny and adorable, because it features a dog named Ranger who is mad at his owner for sneaking pills into his food — the only problem is that his owner cannot seem to take him seriously. In the video, Agouti Husky looks like he is ready to file a formal complaint, but he is wearing a giant pink donut around his neck. So the “serious” part is not really landing.

The dog is upset after mom was sneaky about his pills

In the video, the dog sits in the kitchen with his donut costume — a donut-shaped recovery collar — allegedly grumpy that his owner sneaked pills into his food. He stares at his owner with his unimpressed and slightly betrayed eyes. His owner tries to apologize, but she can’t stop laughing at the look, telling him, “I know you’re tryna be mad, but you look just so cute.”

Then she asks, “What’s wrong, baby? Did mama sneak pills in your food? Did it not taste very good?” She apologizes, “I am very sorry, honey.” Ranger doesn’t exactly forgive and forget, though, and sits there like a very angry judge, letting her talk.

The owner explains, “He is very upset about how sneaky I was,” before admitting, “but it’s hard to take you seriously in your little donut,” and writing in the caption how “It’s hard to take him seriously in his cutesy donut.”

Giving a dog medication is a huge task. Some pups spot a pill from a mile away, and once they realize you hid it in dinner, they act like you personally offended them — hence, Ranger’s face says he will need some time to recover from the blatant betrayal.

Meanwhile, Viewers rallied around him. One commenter said, “He is quite adorable in that donut!!! So happy he is home with his family,” while another added, “He’s looking better and better! You’re so adorable Ranger!!” And the sweetest update of all was from a viewer who observed, “Aaaw beautiful Ranger starting to look like his old self again slowly. Keep going.”

Grumpy or not, Ranger has got a whole fan club cheering for him.
