You would expect a Golden Retriever to make friends at the dog park, but Oliver’s video shows that he skipped that step and befriended a farm animal instead. Instagram user @mundooliver_golden shared the adorable Reel, featuring the Golden with big energy playing with a young farm animal identified in the caption as Yuca. Yuca appears to be a calf who knows how to keep up with Oliver in the yard.

In the video, the Golden Retriever and the farm animal trot around together. They play wrestle, bump shoulders, and then Oliver bounces away. While Yuca answers by lowering his head and nudging back, then circling around for another round. It is the kind of playtime activity that usually happens between two dogs. But in this case, one of them has hooves.

The video’s caption, written in Portuguese, jokes that they have basically switched roles. It translates to Oliver thinking “he’s an ox,” and Yuca “thinks he’s a dog.” The caption further adds that this is just farm life with a “country golden,” raised in the mud and in good company.

Dogs often use the same play moves with anyone they trust — feints, gentle body clashes, and that springy “come chase me” bounce. So when another animal responds without fear or aggression, the game keeps going. Calves also play with each other by running and sparring, so Yuca already speaks Oliver’s language.

What makes the video stand out is how matched they seem, because neither one looks panicked, nor do they try to get away. Instead, they keep choosing to come back for another chase and another bump.

Besides, it is not every day you see a Golden Retriever find a best friend in a farm animal who feels like a perfect fit, like Yuca in this video. So, Oliver may not be a farm animal, and Yuca definitely is not a dog, but they have worked out their own rules.
