There is this one house in Sydney, Australia, that basically guarantees you’re going to be late for whatever you’re actually supposed to be doing. And honestly, who’s complaining? Meg, who goes by @meggardnerr on TikTok, keeps passing by this specific spot in Sydney, where the best pup waits right by the gate. This Golden Retriever has a pretty genius setup for meeting people in this video. His humans actually modified the gate just for him by cutting a specialized hole in the mesh.

Golden Retriever’s owners cut a hole in the gate so he can greet strangers all the time

I hope every single person stops to say hi to him ? #sydney #australia #dogsotiktok #fyp

Meg starts the clip by standing outside the gate, where she is busy giving this fluffball some intense under-chin scritches. All of this is being made possible because of the aforementioned hole in the mesh wire. The sweet pup is clearly loving it as he stretches his neck out as far as it can go. Clearly, he wants all the attention.

The in-video text says the owners made the hole so he gets daily strokes. It is just so sweet to watch him poke his head through and wait. If you know Golden Retrievers, this behavior makes complete sense because they love being around humans. They basically live for the next person to tell them they are good.

His eyes keep shutting in bliss while he gets his forehead scratched. Next, the clip cuts to a wider shot from across the street, and Meg zooms in from a distance. And you can still see that golden face poking through. He is just sitting there patiently, waiting for the next person to walk by and pat him. Meg says via the in-video text, “miss u already, see you tomorrow.”

People have been seeing this guy for years. Someone even shared a photo from two years back. In it, they were squatting on the sidewalk just to pet him. Another person said they look for him every time they pass. This video really shows how much this Golden Retriever loves waiting by his gate for strangers to say hello to him.
