Shower time can either be fun or really dramatic, and Mowgli the dog with a shiny coat certainly leans toward the latter in a hilarious Instagram video. Instagram user @mo.sunshine.plz shared the video, showing the dog making it very clear to his parents that he is not okay with the evening plans — and so he resists until the last moment. The on-screen caption calls it the dog’s “bath time blues,” which feels accurate from the first second of the video.

In the video, Mowgli’s mom tells him to go into the shower, but the dog chooses to protest as he lies down right outside the bathroom as if he has switched on his rebellion mode. He doesn’t growl or bark, though. While he stays still, his mom tries to reason with him, saying, “You’re dirty. Go in there. Go ahead.” But Mowgli remains still, hoping the request will disappear if he doesn’t acknowledge it.

Then his dad calls from inside the bathroom, and that’s when Mowgli finally stands and walks over — only to stop right before the shower area, as if there is an invisible line he can’t cross.

He even attempts to exit, but both parents keep urging him to hop into the shower. At one point, Mowgli sits down again and looks up with those big, pleading puppy eyes that scream, “Please don’t make me do this,” and this is when his dad reveals, “Mowgli has never done this.” However, at the end of the video, the dog finally steps in with hesitation and earns a “good boy” from his mom as his dad slowly closes the shower door.

A little resistance while showering is not unusual in pets. Some dogs dislike the sound of running water, the echo in the bathroom, the slippery feel under their paws, or just water pouring on their body. Mowgli’s dramatic moment was more than drama, and we get it.
