Ralphy has spent eight years being the king of the house, and he is not about to let an eight-week-old newcomer take over his inventory. Most older dogs might pass on a few hand-me-downs, but that is definitely not the vibe at @ralphyandleo. This video starts in the living room, where the older Golden Retriever is hanging out with his toy and plushie collection. He looks all sweet and happy with his tail wagging. But the second his parents mention borrowing a toy for the puppy, the mood changes. He suddenly decides that everything in the basket belongs to him. And him only.

Golden Retriever just won’t share his toys with the puppy

Mom calls Leo over and tells him she has something for him. Ralphy goes on high alert immediately. As soon as the puppy gets near the stash, Ralphy grabs a plushie to show exactly who owns the corner. Mom tries to help by pulling one out for the little guy. But Ralphy is faster. He leaps up and snatches it right out of the air. The person filming even mimics his thoughts: “No, that’s mine!” He takes it straight back to his bed. “You’re not sharing your toys, buddy!” mom says. She isn’t wrong.

And it just keeps happening. Every time a hand reaches into that basket in the video, the older Golden Retriever is there to intercept his toy. He starts building a massive pile on his bed. They try to give Leo a little green one by turning away from the big dog. But he still manages to swoop in and grab it.

The humans are just laughing at this point. They call him a “toy hoarder.” He is sitting in a sea of fluff, and Leo is just standing there toy-less. Even when they offer a pink plushie, Ralphy takes it with a sense of urgency. Like he’s worried the puppy might finally win one.

Hundreds of people have already liked the clip because the “only child” energy is so relatable. One person in the comments noticed there is no growling. It is all just a game. Another fan mentioned their own pet hides things from his sister in two different spots. “He’s 8. The puppy is 8 weeks. Nothing is being passed down,” the caption says. Ralphy is clearly standing his ground.
