A Doberman who looks intimidating at first glance has gone viral for proving he is anything but tough when it comes to nail trims. In a hilarious and heart-melting video, the large dog insists on being comforted with hugs and kisses. At the same time, his owner trims his nails, turning a routine grooming session into a full-blown emotional event.

The clip, shared by @cooper__thedoberman, captures the contrast between the Doberman’s strong appearance and his surprisingly soft, sensitive personality.

The video begins with Cooper sitting close to his owner outside, near a doorway. As she prepares to trim his nails, she leans in and comforts him with affection. The text overlay sets the tone: “Me consoling my big, scary doberman because I have to trim his nails.” Another line appears as she reassures him: “ok fine, do u promise?”

Despite his size and reputation as a guard dog, Cooper looks at his owner with soft, pleading eyes, clearly seeking comfort before the process begins. At one point, he dramatically turns his head away and presses himself toward the door, as if trying to avoid the situation altogether. The video humorously labels this moment: “the DRAMA.”

Cooper continues to seek reassurance, leaning in for cuddles and pausing for what viewers described as “kissy breaks.” The caption highlights just how overwhelmed he feels: “a bath, an ear posting, AND a nail trim in the same week…he is so over me.”

The video quickly gained attention as viewers connected with Cooper’s dramatic yet lovable reaction. One user wrote: “The look away and the kissy breaks are my favourite.” Another commented: “I would pay front row seat for this drama!” A third viewer pointed out the irony: “The “scary” dogs are always the biggest, most sensitive babies.” Another summed it up: “That’s a baby.”
