Imagine turning twelve and still having the same puppy energy for your favorite outdoor hobby. Mason, a blind Golden Retriever from @masontheblindgolden, is living proof that being blind doesn’t hold back the fun. According to his bio, he is a heartbreakingly cute Golden boy, and that description hits the mark. He has always been obsessed with a tennis ball, so his family just had to get creative. Moreover, seeing him stand alert in the driveway shows that his ears are doing all the work now. He is ready for action the moment he steps outside.

The video shows Mason standing right in the middle of the street outside his house. He keeps his nose pointed up to catch any scent in the air. His entire body looks alert while his tail wags in steady circles. Retrievers typically live for a good game of fetch, and Mason is no exception to that rule.

His owner stands a few feet away and starts the modified version of their favorite game. Instead of a long throw, they give the tennis ball a few loud bounces on the pavement.
Mason can’t see the bright yellow toy, but he definitely hears exactly where it lands. The moment that second bounce hits the ground, he takes off toward the sound with zero hesitation.

He tracks the noise perfectly and manages to snag the ball while it is still in motion. Grabbing it in his mouth seems to be his favorite part of it. This blind Golden Retriever then proudly trots away with his hard-earned tennis ball.

This sweet boy recently celebrated his 12th birthday, which makes his agility even more impressive. The video has already earned over 600 likes from fans who can’t get enough of his spirit. One viewer commented that seeing Mason play is the sweetest thing they have ever seen. Another person made sure to tell him what a great job he was doing. It is clear that his age and lack of sight haven’t dampened his happy soul at all.
