For six months, a dog named Leu Leu watched and waited for her human baby friend to feed her. An adorable Instagram video from @leuleu_theblue shows the whole thing unfold, wherein the Australian Shepherd is sitting patiently, waiting for the baby’s tiny hands to slip her something delicious. That day arrived, and the payoff was every bit as worth it as Leu Leu had hoped.

The video begins with a 6-month-old baby clutching a strip of beef jerky while the titular dog sits on the floor below with her eyes fixed on the food. Meanwhile, the background audio dramatically announces, “It is time!” With that, the baby extends the offering, and the dog — six months of patience suddenly vindicated — rises and takes the treat straight from those tiny fingers.

The on-screen caption says, “POV: you waited 6 months for this,” while the caption under the video doubles down with, “she’s been waiting 6 months for this friendship!!” — and viewers loved this part of the child’s development.

One viewer joked, “Never underestimate the bond between a dog and a baby that just started solids.” Another added, “Finally!!! and next she’ll be throwing the ball for her!!!” Meanwhile, a third one pointed out the dynamic at play, writing, “Leu has been training baby so well.” And a very simple “Worth the wait” was spot on.

The video captures the gradual payoff of a contract Leu Leu made when the baby arrived — and for her part, she just waited, because somewhere in that observant dog brain she knew the day would come when a wobbly little hand would be her best friend. And when it finally did, she took it in the most patient and gentle way possible,

The friendship between this dog and the baby brewed across six months of hope that someday, the little one would treat Leu Leu with food using her own chubby hands.
