This sweet journey of a shelter puppy named Eggs Benedict, better known as Bene, recently melted thousands of hearts on Instagram. Shared by @pupswithoutborders, the video first introduces a happy little pup whose adoption applications had never arrived, even after everything she’d already been through, including an illness. But her story has a much brighter ending now. Bene has officially found her forever family, proving that sometimes the right home simply takes a little longer to appear.

The video opens with the tiny pup standing sweetly on a wooden patio. Bene came from a tough hoarding situation where her mother, unfortunately, started attacking the litter. Soon after the rescue team saved them, the puppies started acting very sick. It was diagnosed as Parvo. This brave shelter puppy beat a severe illness long before her final adoption day. In some photographs in the video, we see her wearing a veterinary cone while recovering.
There’s even a photo of her eventually leaning her face on a volunteer’s hand once she felt better. And then we see her recuperating to a plush bed. Bene quickly proves what all animal lovers know: that shelter dogs are incredibly resilient and joyful.
Once back at her foster home, she plays high-speed tag with other puppies out on the patio. And plays fetch with a young child. But as the in-video caption says, her absolute favorite daily activity is hunting wild stuffed animals and proudly showing them off. She wrestles a toy away from her playmates and carries it up the patio steps.
The original clip generated over 20.7k likes since its release on June 7. The rescue organization expressed shock that nobody applied for her right away. But then they shared the happy news in an updated caption:
“Update: Bene was adopted!!! She will be so happy and spoiled in her new home… She’s a happy go lucky girl who will bring happiness and so much love.”
